Faith-Based Therapy in Southport, CT
A space to explore your challenges and purpose through the lens of your own personal beliefs and spirituality.
Sometimes life asks us questions we aren’t prepared to answer.
Maybe the relationship you once had with God is feeling distant or non-existent, and the life you've worked so hard to build doesn't feel the way you thought it would. Doubts you've been avoiding get harder to ignore, and there’s a version of yourself you once recognized that suddenly feels far away.
And in the middle of it all, you're left trying to figure out who you are now.
Maybe you’re here because…
You're tired of pretending everything is fine when it isn't
You want to feel more connected—to God, to yourself, or to the people you love
You never thought you'd have these fears, concerns, or questions
Your marriage is struggling, and one of you is leaning into faith while the other is pulling away
You don't know who you are anymore outside of everyone else's expectations
Faith can be a powerful place to turn when life gets difficult. So when you’re struggling, it only makes sense that it becomes part of the conversation.
MY APPROACH
You can have faith in God—or a higher power—and still struggle.
You might not even be here because you’re struggling with faith specifically. Many of my clients are dealing with things like: navigating a difficult marriage, a major life transition, a loss of identity, strained relationships, or a season of life that feels so heavy they can barely breathe (let alone get through the day). Often, they’re people whose faith is also an important part of how they make sense of the world. That's why I believe spirituality deserves a seat at the table when it's meaningful to you.
Together, we'll get curious about what's happening beneath the surface—not just the challenge that brought you here, but the beliefs, expectations, and stories that have shaped the way you see yourself and your life. Sometimes those stories still fit, sometimes they don't. Part of our work is figuring out the difference.
My approach blends practical therapeutic tools with space for spiritual reflection. When it's helpful, prayer can be incorporated into our work together. We'll also spend time identifying patterns, shifting perspectives, and becoming more intentional about where you're placing your focus.
I want to make it clear that this work isn’t about telling you what to believe. It's a chance to get honest about what feels true, what still fits, and how you want to move forward. For many clients, that process leads to something they haven't felt in a long time: trust in themselves. And sometimes, learning to trust yourself again can be a spiritual practice, too.

COMMON QUESTIONS
-
This is more common than you might think. Whether one partner is questioning their faith, leaving a religion, becoming more involved in their beliefs, or simply approaching spirituality differently, therapy can help you navigate those differences with honesty, respect, and understanding.
-
No. My role is never to tell you what to believe or make decisions for you. Instead, I help you explore your thoughts, values, beliefs, and experiences so you can move forward in a way that feels more aligned with your faith and the life you want to live.
-
Not at all. While I have experience working with Christian individuals and couples, faith-based therapy is available to anyone who wants to incorporate their spiritual beliefs, values, or sense of purpose into the therapeutic process. Wherever you stand and whatever you believe, you’ll be met with respect and understanding—not judgment.
-
Yes. For couples who value faith and want that to be part of the conversation, we can explore how your beliefs influence your relationship, communication, decision-making, and approach to challenges. You can learn more about my work with couples HERE.
-
That's a conversation we can have here. Questioning your beliefs doesn't automatically mean you're abandoning them. Sometimes it's part of developing a deeper, more personal understanding of who you are and what you believe. This work can help you sort through those questions without shame, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out immediately.

I was born and raised in the Christian faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and continue to practice that faith with my three children today. Faith, family, and service have been central values throughout my life and continue to guide me both personally and professionally. I believe the family unit thrives when centered on the values of love, compassion, integrity, and connection while respecting all faiths, beliefs, and spiritual paths of others.
While my own faith informs who I am, I also believe there is beauty, wisdom, and value in learning from people whose beliefs and experiences look different from my own. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am committed to creating a space where everyone feels respected, understood, and supported.
